1. Case Brief
The client is the Flosol brand, which needed a custom ABS chrome plated emblem (Model: Emblema Flosol_Gray). They provided complete design documents and required us to create 3D renderings, produce samples, and conduct mass production based on the design drawings. We strictly followed the dimensional, color, and process requirements in the design documents to ensure the products met the design standards and the brand's application scenario needs.
2. Custom Requirements
- Product Specifications: Strictly comply with the dimensional standards in the design documents (key dimensions: outer diameter Ø372.5mm, inner diameter Ø111.2mm, etc.; fillet R0.2-R1.8mm; thickness 1.8mm, etc.). A 1mm groove is reserved in the blue area for ink filling, and production is carried out in a 1:1 ratio.
- Material & Process: Use ABS Solidchrome material and electroplating process to create a two-color matching effect of Chrome BLACK and Cool Gray 6C, with polished and textured dual textures on the surface.
- Core Requirements: First create 3D renderings based on the client's design documents; proceed with sample production after confirmation; conduct mass production after the samples pass the inspection. The entire process must comply with the design document specifications without dimensional deviation or process defects.
- Delivery Requirements: Deliver and confirm the 3D renderings within 3 days, complete sample production within 7 days, and advance mass production according to the order quantity to ensure on-time delivery.
- Additional Requirements: Provide production process traceability, synchronize the progress of 3D rendering revisions, sample inspection, and mass production, and ensure each step meets the client's design standards.
3. Our Solution
Relying on more than 20 years of experience in integrated industrial and trade customization and production of crafts, we developed a full-process solution of "rendering refinement - sample development - mass production" to address the process difficulties and design details of the ABS chrome plated emblem, accurately meeting the client's design standards:
- 3D Rendering Customization & Optimization: Set up a professional design team to connect with the client, accurately interpret the dimensional parameters, color matching, groove requirements, and texture differentiation in the design documents. Build a 3D model in a 1:1 ratio, focusing on restoring the 1mm ink-filling groove, fillet details, and polished/textured dual surface textures. Deliver the initial 3D renderings within 3 days; fine-tune the color saturation, electroplating texture, and dimensional details according to client feedback, and finally confirm the renderings to lay the foundation for subsequent production.
- Material & Process Adaptation: Strictly select ABS Solidchrome material to match the electroplating process requirements, debug electroplating parameters in advance to avoid common problems such as electroplating layer peeling, color difference, and scratches. For the two-color matching requirement, accurately control the color boundary between Chrome BLACK and Cool Gray 6C to ensure uniform color without bleeding. Separately process the polished and textured surface areas in line with the design document specifications, and ensure the dimensional accuracy of the 1mm ink-filling groove to meet subsequent ink filling needs.
- Sample Production & Inspection: Launch an exclusive sample production line to produce samples according to the confirmed 3D renderings and design documents. After sample production, implement 8 quality inspection processes, focusing on testing dimensional accuracy (verify key dimensions one by one against the design documents), electroplating texture, color matching, groove specifications, and surface smoothness. Issue a sample inspection report and send it to the client for confirmation to ensure the samples fully meet the design standards.
- Mass Production & Quality Control: After sample confirmation, launch the mass production plan, optimize production scheduling, and realize standardized full-process operations including material cutting, injection molding, electroplating, surface treatment, and groove processing. Arrange special personnel to inspect each process, focusing on controlling the stability of the electroplating process and dimensional consistency to avoid defects in mass production. Before delivery, conduct a comprehensive inspection again against the design documents and 3D renderings to ensure each product meets the client's needs.
- Full-Process Progress Synchronization: Establish a one-on-one dedicated docking mechanism to timely synchronize the progress of 3D rendering revisions, sample production, mass production, and quality inspection results to the client. Provide real-time photos of the production process and finished products, allowing the client to grasp the order dynamics throughout the process.
